Privacy Policy

Ejecta is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect minimal data and keep everything possible on your device.

What Ejecta Does

Ejecta is a macOS utility that identifies processes blocking external drive ejection. To do this, the app:

• Reads which processes have files open on your mounted volumes
• Displays this information locally in the menu bar
• Allows you to quit those processes

All of this happens entirely on your Mac. No process data, file names, or volume information ever leaves your device.

Data We Collect

License Activation

When you activate your license, we send:

• Your license key
• A machine identifier (to manage activations)

This is handled by Lemon Squeezy, our payment processor. We use this solely to verify your purchase and manage license activations.

What We Don’t Collect

• No analytics or usage tracking
• No crash reports (unless you explicitly send one)
• No file names or paths
• No process names or activity
• No personal files or documents

Full Disk Access

Ejecta requires Full Disk Access permission to detect which processes are accessing your drives. This permission:

• Is used only to read open file handles via system tools
• Never accesses your actual files or their contents
• Never transmits any information externally

Third Parties

Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing and license management. Their privacy policy is available at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.

We do not use any other third-party services, analytics platforms, or tracking tools.

Data Storage

• License information is stored locally in your macOS Keychain
• No data is stored on our servers beyond what Lemon Squeezy requires for license management

Your Rights

Since we don’t collect personal data beyond license information, there’s not much to manage. If you’d like to:

• Deactivate your license: Use the Preferences window in Ejecta
• Request license deletion: Contact us at support@ejecta.app

Changes

If we make changes to this policy, we’ll update the date above. For significant changes, we’ll notify users through the app or website.
